Suspension and Steering

As a member of the suspension and steering sub-tem I designed a new front suspension geometry, I created a design and plan to be able to manufacture our front upright. Through this process I have utilized many aspects of Solidworks to verify and designing these parts.

3D Sketch

Here I am using a 3d sketch to get the  lenghts of different parts as an output. I can input all dimensions that I want, such as track width, toe, camber, castor, and king pin inclination and I will get the length of the A arms that will satisfy these conditions.

Solid Bodys

After getting appropriate lengths for my various parts I used solid body's to be able to visualize and test the exact capabilities of this design. Using animations I was able to gather data on different angles and ensure that they remained within range.
