Autonomous Rover
Course Completing Run
I led a team of fellow students to design this autonomous rover. We had to design the steering mechanism, the drive system, and the various sensor mounts.
1st Rover
While this rover was not autonomous, I designed components critical to its ability to drive. I was able to test my CAD models in real life, and see any mistakes I made.
Autonomous Rover
The major components where taken from the first rover with changes being made to the motor mount and chassis from lessons learned from the 1st rover. Many new 3d prints where required for the new sensors and claws.
Damaged Rover
While testing we ran into many problems, including walls. The damage was sustained to the pivot for the front wheel and the claw. From this damage we determined that future improvements should include a bumper that would protect the important components.
